Saunas

What are the health benefits of a sauna? How will sauna therapy benefit people with allergies?

Check out the Finnleo website for a comprehensive overview of the many healthful benefits of sauna.

What is the cost of running a sauna?

As little a $1.00 per usage.

What electrical service will I need for a sauna?

They are either plug n' play into a regular 110/120 V, 15/20 amp outlet, or the bigger units need a dedicated 220/240 line with a 30 amp breaker. In many towns the electrical inspector may also require a GFCI service disconnect box.

How do I clean my sauna?

You can use a very mild soap and water solution on the inside benches and walls if needed. Use glass cleaner for the window and door glass.

Can I trade in my sauna?

As with hot tubs, although Rix does not accept trade ins, we will assist in the removal and disposal of your present unit. Note that most people who have an older unit in fine working condition find that it sells quite well through the classifieds.

Is it safe for children to be in a sauna?

Consult your pediatrician or family physician before allowing young ones to partake. Remember that the core body temperature for a child will generally rise quicker than that of an adult, and therefore requires more frequent cool down periods. Children should never be left in a sauna unattended.

How long is the installation process?

Assembly can take from 30 minutes (for some of the portable heat therapy rooms) to up to a day or two (for some of the custom cut rooms). Rix will consult with you and advise you on the sauna assembly process and related fees prior to making your purchase.
